Isn't having
a website expensive? |
Not at all! Our low prices cover 100% of design, set up, and
keeping your site up and running on the web. |
|
-
So how exactly does this work? |
Step 1:
Order the package you want by phone, fax or email
Step 2: We'll be in touch to help you pick a web address (domain
name) and we'll register it for you.
|
What if I
already have my domain name registered with someone else?
Not a problem! We can work
with your current registrar at no extra cost. |
Step 3: From this
point on, the process is no different than working with a printer who's
doing a brochure for you. We'll get your ideas on how you want your
website to look and we'll do a rough draft. Based on your feedback,
we'll revise and polish your website.. and we'll do this as many times as
necessary til you're satisfied.
Step 4: Success! We launch
your site! |

Don't I need
something bigger than a one page website? |
Maybe, maybe not.
Just remember: Your
website doesn't
need to be expensive, gigantic and jammed with fancy graphics to do the
job... it just needs to present your company or organization in a clear,
attractive manner!

|
-
Will my
website have those annoying banner ads and pop-up windows promoting other
people's stuff? |
No! It's your website ... nothing goes
on it unless you want it there! |
|
-
Doesn't my
computer need to be on 24/7 for my website to work? |
No, your website doesn't
rely on your computer. In fact, you don't even have to own a computer to
have a website! Your website is housed on our secure servers that share
your website with the world. This is called
website hosting,
and it's included in our flat rate fee. |
|
-
And how
about if I've already signed up with another host? |
Again, not a problem
--- you won't need to switch over to Barclay for hosting. We can
still design your website and get it up and running on your current host's
server. |
|
-
But what
about changes? Aren't there charges for changes and add-ons? |
Generally changes are free as a
courtesy as long as they're minor and infrequent. We'll let you know if
you're requesting something that's billable. But you may not need to make
changes very often, especially if your website is an "image piece".
In any case, we think our rates for changes are reasonable.

-
What am I
getting myself into here? Will I be locked into Barclay? What if I
want to change hosts or even take over making my own changes to my
website? |
With Barclay you're
always in the driver's seat, and you can replace us at any time. You
or anyone you designate can take over your website at any time. We don't
do anything to your website that would make it incompatible with someone
else's server. There's only one password to your website, and you own it
and control it. |

What
about services to promote my website on the internet? I see companies that
offer to promote and market my website by submitting it to "thousands of search
engines" so that my site has a better chance of being "hit" when someone does a
keyword search. Is it worth it? |
Many of these services are a waste of
your money, at best. Worse, some use "black hat" tricks that can get your
website banished by the search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo, AOL, etc.)
when they catch on... and they will.
Search engines rely
on the actual content and structure of your website.
Our advice is to let us
help you design a solid website that will appeal to the leading search
engines... and then relax, be patient, and let them do their job. |
